Transform, Transmute, Triumph
She always carried her pain secretly and deeply with grace and courage. Throughout her life, she took on many injustices, attacks, judgments, and mistreatment as if they were a normal part of life because she knew no better. She accepted her fate and drew few, if any, boundaries; she showed her family, lovers, and friends deep, unconditional love, even when she rarely received it in return; she held things together and always gave with good intentions. Hard work, motherhood, and constantly seeking stability took priority in her adult life and kept her mind off all the darkness she endured in silence. Then one day, she broke. All of the pain and darkness she was carrying escaped, and she had no choice but to face and sit with it all. She cried and cried, reflecting on every single hurtful moment that she normally avoided. The depression set in for a while. As her tears dried, her pain turned into a powerful rage; she couldn’t take it anymore. The earth shook, lightning flashed violently, and flames fell from the sky as she saw an angel approaching. His wingspan was huge and cast a shadow over 100 feet! He wore flowing gold robes and had piercing golden eyes that gave her an intense stare. The angel pointed to a large gate that appeared out of nowhere; it was made of golden skulls laden with beautiful, bright red roses. As it opened, a bright iridescent light shone through. She heard a loud voice booming in her mind saying, “Get up and go through the gate; you are ready!” She looked up at the angel, who smiled and again pointed towards the gate. She shakily rose and walked through the gate. The flames that were coming from the sky showered her, but shockingly she did not get burned! As she watched, the flames started turning blue and then violet as they went out. She felt a gust of wind and breathed out like she’d been holding her breath the whole time. She felt so peaceful and light, like all burdens magically disappeared. As she looked down at herself, she noticed a glowing aura around her body, but then she realized it was actually coming out of her heart, forming a barrier around her entire body. At that moment, she realized she was reborn and that she’d completely transformed. She transmuted all the pain she’d been carrying for years into power, and it changed her forever. She smiled and hugged herself as she stepped forward, walking towards her new pathway.
